  • Find a quiet place to sit comfortably upright—at the edge of your bed, on the floor, or in a chair
  • Close your eyes and tune into the breath or another point of focus to be fully present
  • Relax your body—loosen your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and soften your brows

Mindful Meditation to Help You Begin Again

Think back to what it felt like to ride your bike or learn a new language for the very first time. We didn't pressure ourselves to get it right or get it done perfectly—at least not right away. We gave ourselves grace to simply learn.

Approaching mindfulness, and life in general, with that same mindset can do wonders for our mental health. By letting go of any expectations, we awaken a childlike curiosity and creativity, lean into self-compassion over perfectionism, and open ourselves to new possibilities during challenging moments. This meditation will help lay the groundwork for cultivating patience and grace as we remember what it feels like to start over again.
