Getting Started

  • Find a quiet place to sit comfortably upright—at the edge of your bed, on the floor, or in a chair
  • Close your eyes and tune into the breath or another point of focus to be fully present
  • Relax your body—loosen your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and soften your brows

Mindful Meditation to Help You Review The Day

Going to sleep can often feel like a drawn-out process—of course, consider yourself extremely lucky if you're one of the few people we know who can fall asleep the moment their head hits the pillow. If you can't relate, you may be someone who lies awake in darkness for another 10 minutes, thinking about all the events that transpired that day. This might include ruminating on the conversations you had with your co-workers, an argument you had with your partner, second-guessing the quips you had with your friends.

But what if, instead, we gave thanks for the interactions that made us smile? For the people we were able to help out, the commute that got us to work seamlessly, and our lunch order that left us feeling happy and satiated. Think about a few things that went well that day and take a moment to reflect on them.

With this meditation, we'll practice putting those thoughts and feelings to bed (even the good ones) so you can finally let your mind and body rest.
