Avast has released a new decryptor, and Kaspersky has modified their decryptor

They sent me a notice yesterday to turn off (block access to) TCP and UDP ports 445, which I did. Besides having my machine up to date with all of the Microsoft patches and running your anti-malware, will that do anything additional to keep me safe from the Cry/Crypt malice that’s going around?
Thanks for all the hard work you do to keep us safe out here in cyber land.

Hi Nishant. As we mentioned in our article, unfortunately due to the encryption that is used, it is not possible to create a free decrypter unless we get our hands on the private decryption key of the criminals.

Instead, we encourage you to read our ransomware removal guide and follow the steps to ensure you make a backup of your existing files in case decryption will be possible at a future time.
