Highlights

It’s important to talk about mental health because significantly more people are suffering in silence than realized. Pain is fundamental to the human condition and it’s only when we have the courage to speak about our challenges, and recognize our shared suffering, that we become aware of the fact that we’re not alone.

Experience

Dr. Sabrina Romanoff, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice in New York City, where she works with individuals and couples. She is also a professor at Yeshiva University’s clinical psychology doctoral program where she teaches advanced doctoral candidates about principles of group theory and practice.

Dr. Romanoff has worked as a researcher exploring how cognitive deficits predict negative emotionality and aggression in individuals with schizophrenia. Her doctoral research also examined the impact of social media use on subjective well-being through connections with socio-economic status and social support. Her research has been presented at the Harvard Medical School Mysell Psychiatry Research Symposium and published in The Journal of Psychiatry Research.

Among other specialties, Dr. Romanoff is noted for her effective work with high-achieving individuals. A consistent theme in her patient counseling is that the collection of personality traits that drive success and achievement are commonly the same traits that lead to mental health challenges related to self-worth and achievement-based identity. Prior to private practice, she served as a clinical fellow at Harvard Medical School and held clinical positions for several years at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, New York University’s Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis, and Cambridge Health Alliance.

She is a highly sought-after media consultant and is regularly interviewed for expert opinion on topics related to psychology, relationships, and performance. Dr. Romanoff has been interviewed in major online and print publications, including Forbes, Insider, Women’s Health, and USA Today. She has also appeared in television and radio interviews with CBS, ABC, and News Channel 11.

Education

Dr. Romanoff received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the George Washington University. She received her Master of Arts degree and Doctor of Psychology degree from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Harvard Medical School/Cambridge Health Alliance and post-doctoral fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital/Northwell Health.
